Purpose. It consists in determining the features of the use of hemp fiber in the manufacture of hosiery and providing recommendations for the knitting industry of the textile industry to maintain the form stability of finished products. Methodology. Organoleptic, modern instrumental and expert methods were used to determine the indicators of the physico-mechanical properties of hemp fiber. The breaking load of a twisted fiber tape was investigated using a DKV-60 dynamometer, and mixed yarn containing hemp fiber, using a RM-3 tensile testing machine. To determine the spinning ability of hemp fibers, light microscopy of transverse sections of stems and fibers was carried out by V.A. Arkhangelsk. The results of experimental studies were processed using methods of mathematical statistics using application programs for PC. Findings. The investigations of physical and mechanical properties of the hemp fibers and concluded need for a textile material with high content of hemp fibers by incorporating into the structure components of synthetic materials. An important factor that affects the quality of products is the right choice of materials that provide the product with a beautiful appearance, sufficient shape stability, the necessary wear resistance and hygiene. Originality. The possibility of the spinning ability of hemp fibers to create environmentally eco-friendly blended yarns with the addition of chemical and natural fibers for the manufacture of knitted products is proved, and the laws of the physical and mechanical properties of hemp fibers on the structure and consumer properties of hosiery are established. On the basis of experimental studies have proved the possibility of obtaining new eco-friendly mixed yarn with improved performance characteristics, also. The practical value. Recommendations have been developed on the features of the use of hemp fiber in the manufacture of hosiery, taking into account their physical and mechanical properties. Textile materials from the hemp fibers do not contain chemicals, are completely decomposed in the soil by microorganisms, without emitting any substances harmful to the environment. The use of these materials helps to minimize pollution of air, soil and water. Experimental studies have proved the possibility of using domestic environmentally eco-friendly raw materials – hemp fibers mixed with other natural and chemical fibers in order to obtain mixed yarn for the manufacture of knitted products, the quality indicators of which comply with the requirements of current regulatory documents
