Purpose.Conducting comprehensive research on the range of wetsuits for various purposes and assessing their quality using organoleptic and instrumental methods. Methodology. The research used modern methods of collecting and analyzing information, a systematic approach, expert assessments, mathematical statistics and logical generalization. Results. A wets uit is a garment worn to provide thermal protection while wet. It is usually made of foamed neoprene, and is worn by surfers, divers, windsurfers, and others engaged in water sports. Its purpose is to provide thermal insulation and protection from abrasion, ultraviolet exposure, and stings from marine organisms. To do this, a comprehensive analysis of special protective clothing of the most popular global and domestic brands used in the aquatic environment in terms of complete customer satisfaction and promising trends in this area was conducted. The main physical properties of neoprene of different manufacturers used for the production of wetsuits are analyzed. The commodity research of the most popular models for any purposes and preferences of the leading manufacturers represented in the market of Ukraine and the world is carried out in the work. According to the market review, the rating of manufacturers of quality wetsuits includes products from companies such as: O'Neill, Scubapro, AquaLung, Oceanic (USA); Mares, Cressi, O.M.E.R., Arena (Italy); Beuchat (France). High heat -insulating, physical-mechanical, ergonomic and aesthetic properties of wetsuits of these brands are noted. According to the results of research of quality indicators of wetsuits by the method of expert evaluation it is established that the most significant among them are: compliance with special protective clothing of the season, scope and operating conditions, material thickness, thermal conductivity, compliance with size and age group use, number of immersions with preservation of protective properties, level of technical execution of a product, convenience in use, breaking force of a seam, convenience of putting on and removal. These indicators can be recommended to consumers as criteria when choosing a wetsuit. Scientific novelty. It consists in the fact that the nomenclature of quality indicators of wetsuits and composite materials for their production is scientifically substantiated. Practical significance. Based on the research of consumer properties and quality indicators of wet type wetsuits, recommendations have been developed to take them into account when designing and choosing a product by consumers in retail chains and online stores.
