Objectives. Based on the analysis of legal documents governing the implementation of procedures for determining the country of origin of goods, search for ways to improve the methods of identification and determination of the country of origin of goods, based on the introduction of special tools and electronic labeling systems. Methods. For research, methods of analysis and synthesis, comparative analysis and synthesis of information, abstraction and grouping were used. Results. The article analyzes the existing methods for determining the country of origin of goods on the example of cattle meat. It was determined that at the moment various seals and stickers are used for identification purposes, which in no way can be a means of determining the country of origin and individual characteristics of the goods. To solve the problem of determining the country of origin on the basis of the branding of meat carcasses, the use of new modern methods of identification is proposed. Scientific novelty. For the first time, recommendations have been developed to improve the procedure for determining the country of origin of certain types of goods using the example of meat carcasses.
